BIO
I am a Teaching Assistant at the Harvard kennedy School and a research assistant at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation. As a human rights lawyer and advocate, I work to empower young people like me across the MENA region. My focus is on “Making Justic Work” by building youth leadership and fostering networks for constructive dialogue and action, aiming for a region where human rights and dignity are accessible to all. I have lectuerd on human rights, leadership justice at institutions including Havard, Standford, and Ohio State.
MY APPROACH
My philosophy is simple: ‘If you can’t change the world, change someone’s world.’ I believe in starting with what’s possible, taking small but impactful steps to adress pressing issues like violence, conflict, and war, It’s through these meaningful changes that we can create a ripple effect, bringing hope and progress where it’s needed most.
EDUCATION
My education journey has equiped me with a comprehensive understanding of global leadership and human rights. enabling me to address complex social issues and build impactful networks. My commitment to driving meaningful change is reflected in my academic achievements, including a master’s degree in international law from Cairo University and a master’s in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Khaled Emam is a human rights lawyer & writer from Egypt with a distinguished track record in leadership, global governance, international criminal justice, and peacebuilding. He is the founder and Executive Director of Justice Call, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth across the Middle East and North Africa to lead transformative peace and justice efforts in their communities.
Khaled has served as an advisor to the United Nations, national governments, and international organizations on issues related to leadership, democratic governance, and conflict transformation.
Khaled has held multiple instructional roles in both graduate and undergraduate programs at Harvard University, teaching courses on Adaptive Leadership, justice, and the politics of the Middle East. He currently serves as a Visiting Fellow at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard University.
Guided by the principle of “Making Justice Work,” Khaled’s mission is to help build democratic, inclusive, and effective institutions that improve lives and protect the inherent dignity and political freedoms of all people.
